I can’t be the only reader of the police blotter who is astounded by what can only be called the stupidity of drivers who leave wallets, jewelry, envelopes of cash and other valuables in unlocked cars with keys visible and inside.
Think about this: Cars and valuables stolen. My car and personal property insurance rates are gonna skyrocket because of the irresponsible, arrogant and, yes, stupid behavior of a few. Your rates will rise, too.
The police then must spend time attending to those avoidable incidents, rather than preventing serious crime.
Come on — lock your cars.
