If the Westhampton Beach girls indoor track team wasn’t on opposing teams’ radars, it certainly is now after the showing it had at the Zeitler Relays on Saturday at Suffolk County Community College in Brentwood. The Hurricanes either won events outright or took home gold in their respective league events.

The team not only bested their League IV counterparts — to which the competition was divided by — but every team in the county.
The ’Canes also won the 4x800-meter relay outright in 9:52.96, the only team in the county to finish under 10:00. Hayes, Falvey Jamie Kelly and Oona Murphy made up the winning team.

After placing third in the boys pole vault by reaching 14 feet at the Stanner Games at The Armory on Sunday, Colbie Mason competed, and won the event at the Connetquot Pole Vault Meet on Monday after reaching 13 feet 7 inches.
