The Hampton Bays softball team is hitting its stride following several rebuilding seasons. The Baymen earned an 8-3 win over Shoreham-Wading River on Tuesday, April 1, to cut a two-game losing streak to start the season. Leading the charge was junior shortstop Shea Egan, who hit a two-run single in the sixth inning to give Hampton Bays a 4-3 lead in the League VI matchup. Two batters later, eighth-grader Emma Grunewald hit a two-run single to give Hampton Bays a four-run lead.
