Early voting is quickly approaching, and I’m writing this letter to remind voters what Southampton Town Councilman Tommy John Schiavoni really represents: overdevelopment of the East End.
Councilman Schiavoni, a candidate for the New York State Assembly seat, is being portrayed by the Southampton Town Democratic Committee as a “common sense” candidate. What “common sense” did he show when he voted “yes” for the disastrous Liberty Gardens project, completely ignoring the will of Southampton Town residents? He didn’t even bother to justify his vote — he just sat there and did what he was told.
As I have stated in previous letters, a candidate must show respect toward the voters, a characteristic Tommy John Schiavoni lacks.
“Common sense” candidate? Really?
