I live across a small channel from Conscience Point, a two-minute journey by kayak or truck, both of which I do. While taking daily walks with my dog around the neighborhood, I always talk to people and have not spoken to one person who wants the oyster company evicted or the boat ramp shut.
In the greater North Sea area, the same thing — and living, working and talking to people in the greater Southampton area, the same thing. What we would like to know is: Who is in favor of this? Who are you doing this for? Is there some huge group of people who are for this that nobody knows about? I ask Sarah Kautz to let us know.
The boathouse is a taste of Americana and looks like something from a Henry Kohler painting.

I had the pleasure of attending the winter concert at Tuckahoe School on December 12. The fourth grade ukulele chorus played “Count On Me” and “Frosty The Snowman.” The fifth grade band played “Merrily We Roll Along” and “Jingle Bells.”...
At the Westhampton Beach town hall meeting two weeks ago, I was overwhelmed with enthusiasm for the new senior community center [“Westhampton Residents Applaud Community Center, and Ask for Much More,” 27east.com, December 4]. I have never attended a meeting...
