Ready, Set, Launch! Benefit for South Fork Bakery Set for May 3

Narcan Training Event in Hampton Bays

The Rotary Club of Hampton Bays and Stony Brook Southampton hospital are collaborating in Operation O.P. (overdose prevention) and will host a free community event on Thursday, April 17, at the Hampton Bays Ambulance building, 18C Ponquogue Avenue in Hampton Bays, from 7 to 8 p.m. The event will discuss the life-saving use of Narcan and the placement of Narcan stations throughout the community. Guest speakers will be Southampton Town Police Chief James Kiernan, Hampton Bays Ambulance Chief Chance Karr, and Stony Brook Southampton Dr. Daniel Van Arsdale. The Bliss Morehead Grant Committee has announced the winner of the fourth annual Bliss Morehead Poetry Grant competition: Bethany Moore of Shelter Island, for her poem, “In Praise of the End.” The theme for 2025 was “Beginnings and Endings.” Moore will be awarded the Bliss Morehead grant of $1,000 on Saturday, April 26, at 5 pm, at the Shelter Island American Legion Hall, during the group’s annual poetry meeting. Youth Bureau To Host Mental Health Conference

The Town of Southampton’s Youth Bureau along with the Southampton Youth Board and the East End Partnership will host a student mental health conference on Friday, April 25, from 8:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Southampton Cultural Center, 25 Pond Lane, Southampton.
