Zofia Olender Kozak, formerly of Southampton, died on April 25 in Charleston, South Carolina. She was 92.
Ms. Kozak was born February 28, 1923, in Cieloszka, Poland, a daughter of Faustyn and Anna Sakowska Olender. She was a survivor of the Soldaue labor camp during World War II. She was a devoted homemaker, and her great joy in life was her children and grandchildren, survivors said, adding that she will be remembered for her baking and cooking.
Ms. Kozak was predeceased by her first husband, Jozef Olender, and her second husband, Anthony Kozak; as well as four sons and a daughter. She is survived by a sister, Wadja Slapinska of Poland; sons, Tony Olender, Henry Olender, Frank Olender and Stanley Olender; and daughters Manya Olender Murphy and Sophie Olender. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Adam Olender, Joanne Olender Ference, Michael Olender, Anthony Olender, Dana Olender, Morgan Murphy, Harrison Keith Murphy, Anna Murphy, Ayden Tarrant-Willis, Olivia McLysaght, Jacqueline Olender, Brandon Olender and Devon Olender and Charlotte Olender; and seven great-grandchildren, Zofia Olender, Nadia Archasi, Lucy Olender, Owen Olender, Josh Olender, Joseph Olender and Chloe Olender.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 30, at J. Henry Sturhr Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
