nspired by The Art of Food: From the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation, explore variations of monoprint printmaking and the fundamentals of line, shape, and the power of contrast combining hard and soft edges.
Students will be introduced to reductive monotype and dry point, a linear technique of drawing directly on a surface with an etching needle. We will layer forms from cut mylar stencils and work with translucency. This allows for freedom with variations of color and compositional elements. Students can create a small Varied Edition of prints on the Parrish printing press. Open to all levels.
